What is the Equestrians of Color Project?

The Equestrians of Color Project (EOCP) is a collection of stories from equestrians of color as told through the lenses of a variety of equine photographers.

The end goal of the project is to increase racial diversity awareness in the equestrian community by shedding light on those challenging, uplifting, and inspirational stories. Read the EOCP blog here.

How old do I have to be to participate in the Equestrians of Color Project?

Participants are required to be a minimum of 16 years old to participate.

What is the Cost to be involved in the EOCP?

There is no cost involved. You will receive images from your session as a thank you for your participation in this project.

What is the process involved in the Equestrians of Color Project?

The process is simple. It involves an interview and a photo shoot.

The interview involves heartfelt interview questions about your experiences as an equestrian of color that will help the photographer bring your story to light. Your responses will be used to write the blog post which is posted on the photography project’s website.

The second part is a photoshoot of you and your horse designed to capture you as an equestrian. Details on the shoot will be discussed prior to your shoot date. As each photography session is designed to reflect you as an equestrian, each shoot is customized to the participant.

Are you an East Tennessee/North Georgia area Equestrian of Color with a story to share?

The EOCP was created to amplify the voices of equestrians of color who have stories they want to share with the equestrian community.
