When it came to planning her senior pictures, Lauren knew she wanted to include both her horse and dog! After all, they have both played a huge part in her life throughout high school.

Lauren is a high school senior who enjoys horseback riding, musical theater, dance, playing the oboe, and marching band. Shortly before her junior year began, Lauren was diagnosed with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS). This condition made it difficult to do the activities she loves and took a toll on her mental health.

Though diagnosed with POTS, Lauren has persevered and continues to show how having a disability doesn’t need to define who you are. Lauren was recently cast as the lead in her school spring musical. In the fall of 2023, Lauren will be attending SCAD to study film acting.

Betsy Bird of Ride the Sky Equine Photography spends her days doing insane things to make horses look at her. Clearly, she’s desperate for attention. Betsy is an award-winning equine and pet photographer based in Chattanooga, TN, and serves on the Board of Directors of the Professional Photographers of East Tennessee (PPETN) and is the current President-Elect of the Tennessee Professional Photographers Association (TNPPA).
